Something I think post-catalyst Adam would do whilst still trying to settle into some semblance of normalcy with Thatcher is to get so upset/angry at him sometimes that he just- goes full on body horror. Not out of the intent to actually hurt Thatcher, but because Adam just wants to drive him away, to keep him at arm’s distance, to remind him that Adam Murray never really existed and that he’s a fucking monster. And the first time it happens he is so sickeningly pleased with the fear he sees on Thatcher’s face before- before- suddenly, Thatcher is closer than he was and his arms are around him and he’s holding Adam together in all the ways he falling apart and this- this isn’t what Adam wanted-

But it’s exactly what he needs.
